LSGT+HDA Soil Sampling Drill
The LSGT+HDA, the newest of Lone Star Drills’ geotechnical rigs, was designed to address the growing demand from customers to be able to access remote or environmentally sensitive areas, where the ground can’t be disturbed by a large truck and trailer. The drill is based on the design of the LST1G+HDA, with added tracks and hydraulic leveling control. Travel is remotely controlled, with a 50-foot tether cord included in case of battery power loss in the remote. The drill comes standard with a 140-pound automatic hammer to ensure accurate SPT sampling as well as easy operation. This model comes standard with a 3,000-psi hydraulic system and 25-horsepower Honda iGX800 gas engine. The drill’s 12.5-gpm hydraulic power pack achieves a rotary speed of 100 rpm. The system provides a hydraulic winch with 1,500 pounds of pull for raising the automatic hammer and sampling string. A diesel option is also available.
- Drilling Depth: 100 ft (30.5 m)
- Borehole Diameter: 6 in (15 cm)
- Pull/Push Back Force: Up to 8,500 lbs (3,855.5 kg)
- Soil Types: Sand, clay & soft rock formations
- Applications: Soil testing, core sampling, geotechnical engineering, standard penetration testing (SPT) and well monitoring
